People with commitment issues stick to the things that they could immediately leave.
They do not go on for the things that really matter to them, for the things that they love.
Why?
Simply because it is all too risky. That once you jump in that train that leads to your ultimate goal...what then?
But the first question is, would you be allowed in that train? Are you equipped enough? Do you already have the skills that they need, are you already capable of taking care of yourself, are you prepared to survive?
And when you are finally inside that train, on your journey to your ultimate goal, what shall you do?
It is all too vague. It is all too risky.
But that's how things change and lives move forward, right? By jumping in despite the vagueness, despite the risks.
So, now... Why do we settle for less? Is it because we do not have the courage to jump in?
Settling for less is safe, it's easy. It does not require much and it does not cost much.
But it also does not provide us with the life and the intensity and the adventure that we yearn for.
And maybe, just maybe. If we go on settling for less, if we just keep on wading our feet at the shore without really plunging into the sea, maybe there'll come a time, that less would be enough. That all our zest and enthusiasm in life would be diminished into something mediocre, something mundane.
Now that is scarier compared to taking risks.
